I'm looking for a long ethernet cable to connect a second computer to my modem and need to know which one of the two cables I need. Thanks in advance.

It depends on your network. If you're running at 100Mb/s, there's little gain to be had with a Cat6 patch cable, as even Cat5e can run Gb speeds.
However, 6 will give you some future-proofing (as it has better performance on Gb than does 5e), and, it's really not much (if any) more expensive than 5e patch cables are these days.
NewEgg and Monoprice have very nice prices for Cat6 patch cables.

Thanks a lot Cup, I did a search of my own after posting. Im thinking of getting a cable in case my router drops the signal.

There are lots of differences between cat6 or cat5e. Current applications running at 1 Gb/s are really pushing the limits of category 5e cabling. Transmission speed of cat6 wire is more than the cat5e. Cat 6 UTP cable is manufactured targeting on Gigabit Ethernet and backward compatible with 10/100 Mbps Ethernet. Therefore I want to suggest you to use cat6 wiring diagram.
