Hi,
I run a small home network. The router is a D-Link DIR-825 Gigabit router.
I have a computer room where the wife and kids each have a PC as well as a network printer.
In my Office, I have my PC, my Windows Home Server as well as my own network printer along with a test bed and an old laptop.
Both rooms have their own switches that serve their respective room.
In my office, I have an 8 port D-link DGS-2208 gigabit switch.
In the Computer room, I have a 5 port Linksys EG005W gigabit switch.
Both switch connect to ports in my router and up to now, everything works perfectly well.
But, I ran out of open ports in the computer room and decided to upgrade my 5 port Linksys switch to another 8 port D-Link DGS-2208 since the one in my office worked so well.
Unfortunately, the instant I take out the old Linksys switch and add my 2nd D-Link DGS-2208 switch, I loose my network. It would seem that a second D-link DGS-2208 switch does not play well with the 1st DGS-2208 Switch. I tried changing ports on the router and switches but no luck. I also tried stacking hte switches but that did not yeild any good results either.
Any suggestions?
PS. The router has the latest firmware.
