Maximum PC

I've got a WRT54g and Win7 x64 installed on all the rigs. I'm trying to get my laptop connected. I don't think the stats on it matter. I've disabled and set to manual a whole bunch of startup and other services in msconfig and svcmsc (Services). Everytime I go to Network and Sharing Center > Advanced Settings, and turn on sharing and then save it, it resets. I go back into the same stuff and it is back where it was before I changed the settings. I can't get Homegroups working because of it, I think.
