Maximum PC

Hey guys, i have a WinXP pro x83 SP3 machine with two network cards, an onboard Realtek card and a D-Ling DGE 530t. im trying to connect a Win7 Pro x64 machine to it so i can share one network connection without using a router. i went into the network connections and bridged the two connections together, which has always worked for me in the past, and it didn't work. i ran the "set up a home and small office" wizard (or whatever its called) on the XP machine, and i turned on file sharing.

Does anyone know what im missing? whenever i bridge the connections i loost all internet on both computers. im connected to a Rodgers cable internet box. (yeah, im in canada)

Bridging is not what you want here.
What you want to do is use Internet Connection Sharing instead.

Break the bridge, reboot, and run network setup (on the 'net-connected PC) to share its connection. Should be working then.
