I justy built a media center for the living room. The motherboard is a A7N8X-E Deluxe with the asusThe ASUS WiFi-b™ add-on card bundles the exclusive Software AP (Access Point) to save the extra cost of an hardware AP. What is the best way without running cat5 wire to it. I have both DSL and roadrunner., but I would like to stay off the cable because my wife runs her business off of it. Its all wired, cable with netgear system and linsys on the dsl side. What next? do I need a access point on my computer so I can send music and movies to the multi media system and should everything be the same. Like a asus access point to the built in wifi b? Sorry but I new to the wireless stuff

IMO, it makes no sense to pay what close to $100 for 2 connections- it's cheaper to get a wireless router & hook everything up with 1 connction. Let the business pay for it.

Just throw a WAP onto the DSL router and call it a day...

Side note: You will not be able to stream video from your HTPC with the wireless 'b' stuff....I tried that...not enuf bandwidth. Upgrade to 'g' and you will be able to stream video all over your house!!!!
