Maximum PC

I built the FreeNas box from the January 2010 issue. Everything worked great until I tried plugging my PC into the router instead of going wireless. Now my PC doesn't see the FreeNas on the network. When I go wireless it's there but when I plug the PC into the Linksys router (and disable the wireless) I don't see it.

The connections are good. I checked that. On step 7 of the article (p51) on the part of the instructions called: "Set Lan IP Address" There is a sentence I did not understand and I think this might be my problem. It states "You'll need to go into your router's config and reserve the IP you chose."

What do I need to do in my router's config? Is this the problem?
(The reason I'm doing this is to gain speed. It's too slow over the wireless)
