First I have no clue where this should go.

I am curious though. What is the best free no non sense chat program? I have an AOL screen name and the people I talk to are on AIM.

For the last couple of years I have been using Trillian or Pal Talk. But both seem to be over run with BS now as is AIM.

Suggestions? Thanks!

Pidgin. It will do all kinds of chats, not just AOL. It will do MSN, IRC, ICQ and others as well. It's awesome and free!

If you are on Broadband, get Skype. Many MPC'ers use it.

Voice chat, text, send files and video chat when one-on-one.

...and yeah, it's FREE!

No.

Pidgin runs multiple protocols, as mentioned in the first reply to your question.
