Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, but there are a lot of streaming services out there making major Hollywood releases available at the click of a button. Torrent sites were somewhat under the radar; these streaming sites seem to operate right out in the open. I am amazed they are not being shut down within days of going live.

Granted the quality is often lousy, but the works are copyrighted. Are media conglomerates so blinded by BitTorrent sites they can't see this more convenient enemy?

If they run low key it's not like they'll be able to find them that easily. I'm pretty sure most of them have ways to skirt around being found by search engine spiders.

They certainly are shady. New releases still in theaters? Yeah, they're available. Granted, the quality will be so bad only the most desperate would sit through it. We're talking about some asshat with a video camera that can barely catch every tenth frame on screen but has no problem picking up every cough, sneeze, and inane conversation from the audience.

Films that are on DVD or near release on DVD are obvious rips straight from a disc.

And then there are hundreds, if not thousands of "scam" films, for which some site wants a credit card number or wants to install a "codec" (yeah, right) before you can view a Flash video. LOL. They must catch so many saps with that.

If you are really interested in movies and such, I would strongly suggest getting an invite to a private Torrent site. Anything else is really putting yourself out there at risk of being busted.
