I'm trying out the beta of Apple's Safari 4 browser(on Windows Vista),and while it's still a little buggy...Good god,is it fast! Makes Firefox 3.06 seem slow. This is the first piece of Apple software I might actually tolarate using.

Have you tried Google's Chrome? I'm interested in a performance comparison between the two. So far, Chrome is by far the fastest browser I've used ... so if Safari is equally snappy, we have more competition in the market. Woot!

Yup,I've also tried Google Chrome. They seem both about the same speed.(Chrome and Safari, that is..)

Any website compatibility issues yet? Does it have the IE plugin like Firefox does? What about tools, addons, and other goodies? More info is needed, if you please.

Why would anyone want to use an apple product?

Seems like a nice browser and about comparable to Chrome, as AMD64Blondie mentioned.

It lacks addons that I use though.

The two add-ons that I would not consider running a PC without are: WOT and Chatzilla. Both are incompatible with Safari, so I will stick with Firefox.

I am getting so sick of the ignorant Apple bashing.

I'll have to give the new Safari beta a try. I've tried Chrome, and it has issues. Sometimes, it won't let me log-in to the forums for some odd reason. I don't have this issue with IE, Firefox, or Opera. Just Chrome. Also, typing in text boxes like this one here, sometimes it won't show the line I'm typing until I've gotten to the next. It's little annoying things, but when Chrome gets those little details worked out, I'll be ditching Firefox for Chrome.

I used it some, kinda like a cross between chrome and firefox, the only thing I liked about it that those 2 didn't offer was the 3d chrome-like start up page

I've run Safari 4, Chrome 2.0.something and Firefox. According to futuremark, I tested my browsers for performance. Firefox scored around 350 or so, Chrome 2.0 scored 860 and Safari 4 was 968.

I really enjoy safari 4, it's blazingly fast. Chrome is fast also. I still like my firefox extensions so I'll stick with firefox until extensions are available for safari ^_^
