simple question really. I can't find where firefox stores my bookmarks. its always one of the most tedious things to re constitute my bookmarks whenever I re-install.

so does anyone know where it is?

What OS? I know in XP it's under Users/Yourusername/application data/mozilla/firefox...or something similar. I'm not sure where they are in Vista.

I use Firefox and an add on called Foxmarks. You sign up with a username and password, then upload your bookmarks to Firefox. Any time you do a new install/reload firefox, simply install Foxmarks, sign in, and VWOLLA!! All your bookmarks are there.

If you can't find them, something else to do would be to save your bookmark file somewhere you can find it. In Firefox, go to Bookmarks, Organize bookmarks. Then at the top, click the Import and Backup bookmarks, select where you want the file to be saved, and save it. Unless you're running IE, lol.

That path sounds right, but why search or navigate. Just go into organize bookmarks and import and export to html from there.

The FEBE extension can backup the bookmarks.htm and extensions to location that easy to find and has a schedule.

If you search for it may be in a hidden folder.

C:\Users\-USERNAME_\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\qxnl38k7.default for Vista

I use Foxmarks to synchronize and backup my bookmarks to and fro my different machines that I use often. Foxmarks can also synchronize your passwords too. This extension is highly recommended by me, myself, and I.

thanks I will be sure to check out that addon later

I use both XP and W7.

I have looked in the folder you mentioned and the best I could find were backups. not my current bookmark list. so even if I wanted to use the backup I didn't know where to put it. it was very annoying.

as for the organized bookmarks tool... well I was unaware of that particular feature

thanks to all of you, I should have posted this thread months ago
