That's a huge topic.

AppDev: ASP, JSP, PHP, Coldusion. I prefer not to use CGI like Perl/Ruby/etc, and try to keep Javascript to a minimum.

Dreamweaver but not that much - just to get the basics going, then I'm in the code so much I could be in TextPad (or Notepad) and it wouldn't matter. NEVER use FrontPage for ASP dev - I had it change my code every time I saved so I just used the upload feature cuz the stupid policy was to use Frontpage and no FTP access - grrrr...

Art: PhotoShop. I started with Fireworks so I'm more comfortable with it, but I'm interchangable. I like Illustrator more than I like FreeHand.

Animation: Flash. Animated gifs are so limited, not worth the time IMO.

Notepad and Illustrator.

I'll probably never use anything else. The geek in me feels that using anything like Dreamweaver or Frontpage would deminish my eliteness. ;)

I played with it once for about an hour. I quickly decided that if it took longer to do with the program than the amount of time it would take to code it out, it wasn't worth the box it came in.

I like Dreamweaver MX 2004 cuz I do as much CSS / XHTML as I can before I get completely annoyed with the standards. It's more integrated than MX, but fails once you really start into it :/

Nothing annoyed me more than doing an ASP webapp and FrontPage screwing with the code cuz it thought it needed to re-write it from some reason. I can call a FrontPage site from a mile away...

That is basically what I heard from fellow coders....... that basically Frontpage adds its own garbage to your code and you have to strip it out with notepad. Just seemed to me like putting a horse at both ends of the carriage.....
