What trick is that??
Valid emails come from somewhere.
..as do valid phone numbers. Beleive it or not, all of the incumbant local LECs (i.e. Qwest, PacBell, SBC, Bell South) do the same thing when someone switches to a competeing carrier....and while they have a non-sharing agenda while yuo're a customer, once you leave all bets are off.
Like I said, this is nothing new.
I see what you're saying now
the article wasn't about legitimate emails, it's more of a weak phishing trick that resembles the old gator/akami(bonzi buddy) popups that were around in past years(clicking yes/no/cancel/or closing the popup would begin the install only a ctrl-alt-del-kill would stop it)
