If you have cable or DSL, your IP is more then likely assigned by your ISP and you cant change it. If you are behind a router and want to change your private IP address, then you can do that. Im guessing your not though, so your probably stuck with the IP you have.

Actually I am behind a router and i want to change my private IP address
But I forgot how to do it...

Open up your network connections, double-click the connection that you want to change the IP on. Click the properties button, then highlight TCPIP box and hit properties again. A box will pop up allowing you to change your IP manually.

OK, now I'm confused. If he's behind a router, and all the world can see is his WAN IP that the ISP assigns, what would it serve to change the IP on the LAN side? I'm new at networking, so I don't understand all I know at this point. Thanks for any insight...
