I just learned about this website, http://www.mail2web.com.

It sounds cool, but I'm skeptical about entering in my email address and password which you have to do in order for it to do its thing.

Anyone ever used this or know if it's safe and legit?

I have used it quite a bit, and never had a problem. Not sure how safe it is, but I have never really worried about it either.

Didn't it make you nervous to type in your email address and password into some third party website?

What about a site called "bank2web" that allowed you to check any bank account online if you just type in your user name and password.

Would you worry about how safe that is?

I didn't say that I shouldn't have worried about it, I just said that I didn't. Doesn't mean that it was a good idea.

Also now that I think about it, I found the site when I worked for Covad. They used to recommend it before they got their own webmail service up and running.

Keep,

For what it is worth, Earthlink recommends this site to check your mail via the web when you cannot access your Outlook/Thunderbird on business web hosting accounts. I know that this doesn't make it safe, but I would hope that Earthlink wouldn't recommend without doing their due diligence.
