When the comcast guy installed the internet here, he said that I might have issues with the internet cause the signal was off the charts, I didn't think anything of it cause I had never heard of anything like that. However, ever since it was installed I've had internet issues! Lol, our wireless is always dropping a connection (even the wired) then comes back seconds later. It's always sputtering.

I am using their monthly rented modem, I am at work right now so I cannot look up the model. Is it possible to purchase a modem and possibly limit the signal that comes in or is there anyway I can break down the signal before it hits the modem?

Also, should note that I just have internet (no tv or phone)

Thanks everyone!

I think the guy is just BSing you, but eh, what do I know? :P

The only thing I can think of is getting an attenuator, which you'll probably have a better chance getting it online.

Just to be clear: you said you don't have any other service with your Internet. So, my question to you is: are you using a splitter between the coax from the wall to the router? I only ask because I experienced an issue like you are mentioning when I had a faulty splitter causing the signal to drop out.

If that is not the case, try exchanging the router since Comcast owns it anyway. Could be faulty itself. I've never heard of problems with a signal being "too strong". Unless we're talking radio comms.
