I'm going to be moving in about 2 months to a new location. The place I'm moving to will be Cable-ready, so I could get Comcast (which is all I can get around here as far as cable providers are concerned). I can't get Dish or any type of satelite (prohibited by my lease), and sadly, 4G LTE is not available where I am (I can only get 3G on my phone).

I'm looking for some suggestions other than Comcast that can offer a good quality 3Mb or faster connection that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to use. Right now, I only have Comcast cable (a 20Mb connection) which is about $60 a month (I don't use the TV service because everything I want to watch I've found online through sites like Sidereel.com and Netflix).

I don't do massive amounts of downloading, so a 3Mb connection would be fine if the price is right...
I'm open to wireless or wired solutions. I would use my cellphone but I'm concerned that 3G is too slow--from what I've read. If 4G LTE was available, I'd strongly consider it as an option, but it isn't where I live.

Suggestions or alternatives to Comcast? (I only download maybe 25GB of data per month, and that includes my web surfing, watching TV/videos online, email, etc).

(I did consider DSL, but I don't want to get a phone line for just DSL, unless I can get a phone line and DSL for under $30-35 a month or so.)

Try to check the area you will be moving to and see which ISPs offer service to your new home. A local ISP might even be a better option than one of the big names.

Keep this link handy for when DSLReports gets everything back online.

Here's another ISP search site that's been around for a while.
