The migration effort unsuccessful to date,' says Arbor report. Despite the fact the IPv4 address well is quickly running dry, IPv6 accounts for just 1% of overall Internet traffic according to a new report by Arbor Networks. Despite 15 years of IPv6 standards development, vendor releases and advocacy, only a small fraction of the Internet has adopted IPv6. Over six months, Arbor found that traffic over IPv4 networks grew by an average of 40-60%, while IPv6 traffic decreased by an average of 12% because of its comparatively slow growth.
