My church has asked me to looked into VOIP providers. What we need is a way to have multiple VOIP phone lines that run off of one computer, perhaps through a router's wireless signal.

Is this even possible? We currently have one computer, and I know we could use MagicJack/Vonage/ect to run one line, but is there a way to run multiple lines?

Why go VOIP? Why not just get multiple phone lines? Is it a cost issue?

Yes. We currently have multiple phone lines and they want to look at cutting costs.

What kind of service do you have and can you somewhat describe what the needs are?

It really sounds like you're limiting yourself to services like vonage or skype.

I'd probably investigate if your ISP, or an ISP in the area can offer both an internet connection and Voip phones. There one place out here that I can think of off the top of my head that'll offer a 10 meg pipe nad 5 lines for $90.

I would check with your local cable provider. Most of them have now switched to using VOIP systems. Though a church might get you stuck in a business plan which can run you more $$ than a residential plan.
