 Post subject: Mystery Firefox Addons

Found 2 Extensions in Firefox I don't recognize, both named Java console, both no options or uninstall buttons.
Any ideas as to what they are?

They are plug-ins/addons for Java when its installed (so you can use it in Firefox). Disabling/uninstalling them will bork anything that would use Java to work.

For example, you wouldn't be able to use this speedtest.

The speedtest works, and they are disabled. It sounds like you're thinking of the Java Platform plug-in, but these are add-ons, and I don't recognize them from before. Are you sure i should trust these addons, i know i can trust the plug-in.

Actually, my bad..retracting my statement about breaking Java. They won't do any harm as they allow you to monitor and debug running applets. They won't do any harm but it would probably be best to just leave them as they are.
