Is there any good online resource or book to teach C and C++?

For C and C++ programming, it's hard to beat CProgramming.com for help and interaction. Very busy forums.

I find http://www.cplusplus.com/ very helpful both when learning and as a reference tool.

I kid you not, but to learn c++ I talked to a professor at a local college (after talking to a bunch of people in the course and finding the most personable instructor) and he let me sit in class and "observe" the class for two semesters. I didn't get a grade but I did get a solid foundation in c++ as well as an advocate to help me in my college studies.

Good stuff, scuzzo. Not many people are willing to take such steps in their education... and I think you'll find that many profs are happy to help you learn.

I've 'audited' many courses in my time .. it is an easy way to learn without having to shell out a lot of money to do so. You may not get credit for the work, but you know you're expanding your horizons.

As part of my Electrical Engineering curriculum, I'm required to take a programming course. Decided on c++ (big mistake. Java is 10x easier etc. I hate the class...) Anyways, we're using the book "Programming: Principles and Practice using c++". It's not a bad book, but Bjarne Stroustrup (created c++) has a very roundabout (could call it counterintuitive almost) way of explaining stuff (We're using the book because Bjarne Stroustrup is "guest" lecturing half the time and the prof is a moron. That doesn't necessarily mean its the best book out there.) Your best bet is to probably sit in on a local community college class. The best way to learn programming isn't by sitting in front of the book, but to actually install a compiler and IDE and write some code. (protip: make sure you do all the work assigned in the class, even though you're not getting a grade for it. Also, don't expect to be programming games like Crysis, or games at all for that matter for the first half year or so. You gotta learn the basics first.) Sorry about all the parenthesis.

That book is commonly called the C++ Bible ... one of the best C++ books on the market.
