 Post subject: mysql db creation?

I need help creating the database for a website im working on. I have someone who can do the php part but I don't know enough about mysql to do the database. Is there any one who could point me in the right direction or that is willing to help? Thanks!

For starters, you could peruse the MySQL website:
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/index.html

As far as MySQL is conerned, it's helpful to know SQL. There are many books out there that deal with SQL, it's also helpful to know how to normalize databases. Normalization is important to databases.

First, you should know how to design a database. If you haven't, get a good database textbook and read up on how to design a database. Learn the differences between first, second, and third normal forms, etc.

As for MySQL help, they have this giant 1000+ page pdf file on their site. That's probably all you'll need for now. :)

I would venture to say that your php developer should know enough about mysql and database design to aid in the design phase of this.
