Hey guys ( & gals) hope this is the right spot for this question. Basically I'm a hardware guy who has been tasked with making some simple webpages. I want to use dreamweaver ( the best I have is MX 2004 version). The issue is that when I 'compile' the page and view it on my machine I always get the information bar pop up that reads something like:

To help protect your security, Internet explorer has restricted this webpage from running scripts or ActiveX controls that could access your computer. Click here for more options....

This happens even if I create a new html page with no code/input from me... just a blank page.

What is triggering this and I can I work around it?

Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Workaround: use Firefox or Opera.

It comes up because Windows thinks you might potentially in some way use ActiveX on a less trusted domain.

Ok if windows thinks I'm coming from a less trusted domain, can I register to become trusted? Or something??? This is all a bit foreign to me. Ninety percent of ppl who surf the web do so on IE, and I dont want to alienate them.

I'm not trying to do anything shady, just want a simple webpage with a simple flash animation.

Any other input out there?

Windows just sees your local file system as less trusted. Once you put it on a real webhost, it won't have the same popups/restrictions.
