PHP and Java.

A bit old now, but still a pretty interesting read. I suspect that Sun and IBM wouldn't mind having half a million more php devs join the 3 some million Java devs.

And I'm going to be one of that 3 million to do so, in fact, I've already ditched PHP altogether and moving onto a Java platform. Now, I just have to setup Tomcat on my server :-)

You should also try JBoss and the free app server from Sun as well. I wouldn't know for sure, but I hear the others are a bit better than Tomcat.

Could you host some Coderuler games on that server by chance?

Cool! I'll look into it!!! :)

As for the hosting, my upload sux0rz. 256Kb/s (yes, that's kilobits per second), so my upload capability will limit me to like 1 user per day. That, and I use my home server as my test server.

A bit off topic here, but we have a Computer Science Symposium in my school, coming up. I'll be doing mine on Aspect Oriented Programming, I'll post my stuff after it's finished (assuming I'm able to speak at the Symposium). Maybe someone here can put a headstart at AOP discussions.

Oh, AOP is very interesting!

The game isn't interactive though. Everyone uploads there code, and then you run the tournament and we watch are code play the game. If anything, it will put more of a hurt on your dl then ul.

I'm talking to dudex about it right now in the java chatroom.... you should join us sometime.

I did some work on AOP last semester.... bug me in a day or two and I'll try to finish getting it up on my website.

You know that I am still physically ill of the thought of having to program in php with a Java style syntax right?

Not a Java style syntax.... just the Java object oriented programming mode....

Oh, that's right. You, Java and OOP. :)

My bad, I was in a funk that day. What I don't get is that I learned OOP first, moved to C, and now I can't stand thinking about OOP. I don't know what is wrong with me.
