Thats likely MS BASICA on that machine. If it has a HD, type in Basic or basica at the dos prompt. If you get anything, thats the interpreter - thats were you run basic from. BASIC doesn't really compile on those machines. It runs in script mode and you load it into ram (IIRC).

Thats a true museum piece. If it dies, save the case - its a great modding oppertunity.

Commodore's computers (the C64, VIC20, etc.) had a BASIC interpreter on a ROM chip. Those things were great. :)

Gamer ... there are many different kinds of BASIC .. all of which suck. :P

Then you will have to find it. Try looking for BASICA online - load it to floppy (assuming it had one) and type:

BASICA A:

of maybe its A: BASICA

not sure

There should be instructions online.

You might want to do a search for qbasic.

You should just program in Python and get off this Basic kick.

If you don't mind appearing like an idiot, we don't point mind pointing and laughing.

Seriously ... if you want anyone to respect your posts, you need to take the time to make them legible, if not error-free.

It belongs in a museum.

Preferably under lock and key where it can't infect anyone!

QBASIC brings back memory, actually nightmares lol. It was the first programming language I ever learned. I took my 2nd semester in college. That would be Spring '96 lol.

It was a terrible language to learn now that I look back on it. Out final was to write any type of game we wanted. I wrote a geography trivia game lol.

Just to clairfy things, I thought it was 4.77 Mega Hertz with the Intel 8088?
http://inventors.about.com/library/weekly/aa031599.htm

"The first IBM PC ran on a 4.77 MHz Intel 8088 microprocessor. The PC came
equipped with 16 kilobytes of memory, expandable to 256k. ... "

I had one of these babies. My dad bought a 20Meg (It was a lot at the time) internal hard drive for it. I programmed (scripted) LPMud with it. I even ran a BBS for while on that thing. Ran blazingly fast with my 1200 baud connection.

Damn... what year was this? I suspect you had the modern day equivalent of dual opterons! :)
