I need to develop an secure online inventory system for a buddy's autobody repair shop. My experience with programming with PHP and such extends out to only modding PHP code for my forums (http://www.bassbio.com/forums).

I have readysetconnect as a host so I have all the tools needed exept the program itself. Where do I start to look?

How do I go about this?

Is there any free program to efficiently meet my needs?

I greatly appreciate all your help!!

I don't do PHP, so I'm not going to be able to help. I will offer you two cents though - modding someone elses code and creating a secure and robust web application are world's apart in difficulty. Unless you're getting compensated in some manner (and need the compensation), I would probably let this slide by.

I have found a nice php inventory management software program. It is from http://www.inventory-management.org/. I have it setup here, http://basslurereviews.com/inventory-software/. Log in info is admin test.

I love it, but I need it to track what location each part is in the inventory. For instance, I have three locations. Let's say I have 10 wheels. I would like to know were each one of them 10 wheels is located among the three locations. I need this to be able to add this location information whether I add an item(s) or minus an item(s).

As far as it being hard to customize go to www.phpbb.com and then to the mods section. It's obviously not so hard to someone who knows PHP.

ANYONE???

I GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP!!!!

Yah but the inventory management system I had posted above is also free and it is specific to just inventory. That AgoraCart would be nice if there was some sort of hack to make it work JUST for inventory purposes. Is there such a hack?

hell-o
the upcoming mysql version could be hacked for inventory like this. the current flatfile could be would be expensive.
if using for inventory alone then aren't there inventory programs available? php/mysql would be good for this type of thing as there wouldn't be security concerns with purchases.
i think your best bet is to find a free inventory program written in php/mysql. then hire someone to fix security flaws in the code and customize so different locations can access and adjust to sale or reciept of inventory.

dan

I am a step ahead (read a couple posts before) by already having a specific PHP FREE inventory managment program. I need to have the location thing worked into the program as I stated before.

Anybody a PHP GURU? This is Programmers' Paradise.

I'd greatly appreciate the help.

:!:
