well, i'm a hi skool student and I think that Visual basic is a pretty good language, but I probably don't know that much. However, c++ code is much cleaner. And why does everyone use openGL? I thought using directx would be better. All I know is that VB supports directx so I decided to learn it.
Gadget will scewer you for saying that
But don't worry, if yer in HS, VB is a good start.
VB is like paint by numbers (IMO). At the end of the day you have a pretty picture. Which is fine. But you are no painter.
On a positive note, you have been introduced to the tools of the trade though. So, its a start. You may find you have to relearn some things later though - 'cuz while VB might make something simple - it does make the right (in the background). Only you can do that. So you have to learn how to do it the real way and not the easy way.
Thats just my opinion, other may vary.
