Maximum PC

I'm working on learning how to use the .Net framework for C++ right now basiclly just for the hell of it while I look for a good book on the MFC. I was just wondering if you guys think the .Net framework applies well to C++. That is should i not bother with the book? I do like the built in string capabilities but otherwise it changes alot like how print lines. ok now im babaling I'll let you guys answer my original question.

If you want .NET functionality with C-style syntax, use C#.

That's my take.

c++.net is the future for programming on windows. While you will always be able to use other c++ tools/compilers if you plan to use Microsoft you might as well just learn it.

It might be handy to familarize yourself with MFC. If you go into a place where you need to manage old code there could be a chance you'll find yourself looking at code using MFC but don't bother really getting into the nitty gritty details.

Well, C# has much more hubbub about it than C++ .NET. I'd say C# is really being pushed more than C++ .NET.

I've seen waaay more projects in C# .NET than in C++ .NET. Way more.

And MFC is pretty much dead. It never really got much support from the users because it is a nightmare to use.

Hmm. Thank you for the input. I've been waiting to reply to see what you guys said over a couple replys. I guess I'll continue to learn C++ .NET but also learn C# and C#.NET which I was planning anyway. Again Thank you

Hmm im playing with some ideas with Console Applications (.NET) and its not adding the Press any key to continue... its just exiting automaticlly. Any idea how to correct this?

C++.NET is kind of the bridge between old school MFC coding and .NET, but for anything .NET, C# and VB.NET definitely. I wrote code for C++.NET and it was NOT fun at all, C# is a by far easier and cleaner than C++.NET.
