I just installed my new M-Audio Revolution 7.1 soundcard and am VERY impressed with it. This isn't a post to rip the Audigy 2, it is an awesome soundcard. If you are really into gaming it would be the card to get hands down. However, I don't do much gaming, besides trying out the demos that come with MaxPC magazine, so I was curious if there was anything else out there that was better at playing music. I wasn't disappointed with the Audigy 2's sound, but wanted to see if the Revo was better, like I have read in the reviews. Let me tell you, I am glad I tried it. This thing is AWESOME. It doesn't resample audio sources like the Audigy does. It plays them in their native form. Cd's are played @ 44100Hz, whereas the Audigy resamples to 48000Hz or higher. This keeps the source in it's purest form, and let me tell you it sounds better. Also, the control panel is MUCH easier to use. Everything is in one place. I was getting tired of looking through 10 different creative programs to find the feature I was looking for. Not to mention all the junk creative dumps on your system with each install. I just wanted to give you guys a little feedback on this card in case any of you were considering it.

Bullshit marketing ploy that only eats up CPU/DSP cycles that could be used for something useful.

Do you do any recording with this new card? If so, how does it sound?
