I replaced my dead mobo with an Abit NF7-s and am using the ss audio and left the audigy2 zs out . I admit being torn between them.

What do you people think? Is there any advantage one way or the other?

The audigy certainly sounds MUCH MUCH better and can do everything the soundstorm does, save one, encode in Dolby Digital. But otherwise, it's a much better soundcard. I have both as well, but I got the platinum version, which has the optical outs(which are nicer for music)

The soundstorm overall is pretty nice, but it lacks higher EAX support, many of the features of the Audigy and has some really harsh highs, and not as full bass.

If you like fighting with creative drivers go for it.

The Audigy2 ZS is great. I have tried the soundstorm but experienced some problems in games when I owned an Asus A7N8XE-Deluxe board. I have switched to a Gigabyte now. I think any onboard sound option will slow down your performance because it is relying on the CPU. :)
