Hello everyone,

I just recently tried to install the latest version of Winamp (5.05?) onto my machine that I just recently did a fresh install of Win XP w/SP2 slipstreamed into it, and when I would open Winamp, it was as if there were pieces of each of the features (the player, the browser, the playlist editor, the eq) in the displayed window, but they were not complete. It was almost little "patches" of each in the displayed section. Also, there were no window controls at the top (minimize, maximize, close). I had to stop the Winamp sevice in the Task Manager, because it was not even listed in the open programs (even though it was playing a song that opened with the program). Is anybody else having this problem?

I am going to try previous releases of Winamp 5 and hopefully one will work. But I was hoping somebody could shed some light on the situation or at least confirm this.

Thanks!
-Tony

PowerDVD 5 for all my DVD needs. Also I use PowerDVD 5 for a variety of other video formats like DivX, XVID, AVI, VideoCD, SuperVideoCD, etc.

MP3 I still use WinAMP. I don't need a fancy MP3 cataloging program and I never run a fancy visualation graphic effect. Just run WinAMP in the taskbar and occasionally pop it up to modify the playlist. I follow the KISS principal...where I Keep It Simple Stoopid! :D

I avoid WMP like the plague. It is ugly, slow, irratating when it insists on loading a webpage and the only good feature about it....is that it is free.

I also avoid RealPlayer and Apple QuickTime and hate the way they try to hijack your system. For those times where I have no choice on a website but QuickTime or Real videos.....I use QuickTime Alternative and Real Alternative.
