O.K. How am I suppose to activate my DVD X Copy after they finish going down the tubes? The website says they'll be there till August 2005 and you can activate online.....but what about after that? Why can't they just put out a patch that will eliminate the whole activation headache. Does anybody know of any such thing?

If you dig into their site, you'll discover that they eventually started giving away their commercial products for free after the MPAA bitchslapped them the second time in court.

A google search might turn a few of them up now that they're public domain.

I have a legality question here....

Ive got a copy of DVD Xcopy, the preban version, which im sure just about everyone has. My question is, Is it legal to pass this software along to anyone that wants it? Say someone here wants a copy, can I say "Hey, email me and ill send ya a copy of it"

Ive been reading bits and pieces about the software and Im getting the impression its just about like freeware now. Someone want to set me strait on this?

NO. You couldn't do what you wanted when it was legal to have the software..now that it's deemed illegal, you think it's somehow legal to pass it off to others legally??!!?

I was confused, thats why i asked the question. From the few things i had read, it seemed like they had released the software to the pubic "unofficially" since it was banned. Something like it was readily available in the right places, but no one was charging for it.
