the easiest thing to do if you are (and I'm guessing your running it on a DSL or cable connection?) is to go sign up for

dynamic dns service.

and then give your friends the dynamic dns address you signed up for.

however you could give your friends you public ip

http://www.whatismyip.com/

then tell them to connect to url where XXX.XX.X.XXX is your public ip they would enter the url http://xxx.xx.x.xxx:8000 (assuming default port 8000 is what your shoutcast server is running on) make sure you have the port properly opened/forwarded if behind firewall.

no problemo... oh btw one thing if you give your buds the public ip the problem likely will be that residential services usually have dynamic IP. so in a few days or weeks whatever your friends won't be able to connect again. And you will have to give them your new ip.

if you set up a dynDNS account and configure and dynDNS update client on your end then they could connect the same way all the time

for example your dynDNS xxx.isa-geek.com the connect at http://xxx.isa-geek.com:8000

(i use DeeEnEs myself to update the dynDNS records) but there are a lot of clients)
