can any one point me to a decent automated overcloking utilitie for my 6 year old notebook i use for my misc. tasks. it is anm old ibm think pad that i bought used with a Intel pentinum mobile that clooks in at 1.7 Ghz and 1Gb of ram running in single channel
i am just look for somthing i can do a quik and easy over clock with nothing to extremec just looking too eek a little more power out of it i would prefer something that can autotune for me

I think your thermal headroom would only allow for maybe 200MHz increase. And I don't think that would really do much for you.

Aside from that, I also don't believe if the vendor allowed overclocking to begin with, you can't do it. That's a very low level function that usually isn't accessible from the OS, on the implication if a rogue program got a hold of that, well, your system would be hosed.

first off only after doing some dighging i relized that someone prior had downgraded the proc. to a petinium it has plennty of thermal room my cpu dosnt get hot until ive been runing a stress test for 3 days straight and voltage is not an issue th board is spossed to be running a duel core part and im running the powe3r input out of spec slightly just so i could over clock it i am just looking for a simple ai based over clocxking utillitie so i dont have to mess around with core voltages and what not anyas i was only going to overclock it by at most 500mhz

clockgen, might work, I have used it with my old xeons, but notebooks are very hard to overclock. http://clockgen.en.softonic.com/?gclid=CIytopfjra8CFeUEQAodKgMhpA most of the older intels will not overclock 500mhz without cooling and added voltage even at that 400 from a desktop is about average.
