Lately, I've gotten away from using DVDShrink. Even though dual layer DVDs are still somewhat expensive, I've just been ripping them to the hard drive and leaving it at that (a portable 2.5" external laptop drive, that is). I'm really only backing up the good ones to dual layer DVDs. Everything else, I either strip out extras and just burn the main movie to a regular DVD or I don't bother and just dump it on the drive.
Do you have to run DVD43 in compatability mode or something? I haven't tried with Win7 yet to be honest, but the last time I tried with Vista 64-bit, it choked on me.
I guess I do still have an older XP machine (P4) sitting around that could rip videos with DVD43, and then I can move the through my network to my media server, I guess.
