Are there any other alternatives to Adobe Flash Player for sites like YouTube?

I'm aware of VLC player, but I actually need one that is less GPU dependent (mainly for an older P4 with onboard video) so I can use it to play Flash content but not have the jittery-ness of Adobe flash player because it has such high resource requirements (fairly powerful CPU and graphics card).

I thought youtube had a complete version of html5 for viewing videos? can't seem to find it.

http://www.youtube.com/html5

I add it, but all the videos' still playback through flash. I've spent only 30 seconds on this issue.
