Ok, so I've been in the process of converting all my movies to digital since I got my FreeNAS box working. I'm coming down to my BluRays now, but seem to be having some issues.

I start with DVDFab 8 and rip the BluRay to a hard drive. I then open Handbrake, using the high profile preset, point it toward the BluRay folder, and encode to an MP4. I've tested my settings several times with the preview option, and it works fine. But 20+ hrs later when the encode finishes, the file won't play on my computers, or PS3.

Anyone have ideas or suggestions to fix this? I'm working with my copy of The Hurt Locker, if that makes a difference. Thanks.

I seem to remember something about finished files over 4gb-ish that will always be corrupt. Maybe try lowering size to about 3900mb (works for me) or enabling 64 bit files (option in handbrake). Maybe this is your issue? 20hrs+ does seem like quite a while... 4gb mp4 h264 in handbrake takes me 4-6 hours on an amd quad core 2.9ghz.

I have the encodes running on my HTPC when it's not being used, which is an Athlon II X2, hence the longer encode times. I was trying to keep the quality as high as possible, but I'll run an encode with these suggestions and see what happens. Thanks for the help.

Turn to Yahoo answer and Google search.
I always use aneesoft dvd tools to do converting or editing, but seems it can't handle with BluRay.
