My dad can see and watch movies I have on my pc downstairs on his laptop. I have those folders shared on our network.

He would like to be able to watch those movies on his upstairs 42" tv instead of his laptop. Any ideas?

Sounds like you want something like the WD TV Live Plus with a compatible wireless adapter.

Another way would be to use a Playstation 3 or have a HTPC.

i use xbox 360 with tversity on the pc......he could plug his laptop into the tv,but i guess he knows that already.
