I shot some footage using a Contour HD helmet cam. The resolution is 1280 x 960 and things look tall and skinny.

To correct the squished view, what resolution and aspect ratio should I use when I re-encode the video?

I've tried selecting 4:3, 16:9, and 16:10 but my eyes are playing tricks on me ...

Could try 1280 x 1024? could make it more square also with 1024x768, or an up convert to higher resolution.

Knowing what OS and rendering software you are using would be most helpful to those of us curious and wanting to help! :)




Edit: I found the software: http://contour.com/software/storyteller
