In the latest print issue of MPC, it rated plasmas over LCD's. However, I've read that if plasma televisions are handled incorrectly, that it ruins them. Is that just an urban myth or any truth to it ? Thanks for your time.

they have to stay upright, but large LCD flat screens have to stay upright too.

lay either down and its toast.

Think about this....if you go and buy one from your local retailer, how did it get to that store? That's right, it was shipped. Either way buying online, or straight from your local retailer, at one point or another everything is shipped.

most times even if you buy plasmas/large LCDs at the store they will want to deliver it and set it up.

over at AVS forums most people will tell you to run special plasma "break in" images for so many hours when you 1st set it up. you can grab the images there. personally I dunno if its needed though, I went with a 46" LED LCD as I have a bright, open living room and plasma wouldnt be able to compete with the ambient light levels.
