I'm wondering how my current temps stack up

I have an asus p6T board
running an i7 940 cpu
just installed a cooler master hyper 212 plus

with prime 95 running on all 8 cores
real temp 3.0 reports
60 60 58 59 C

is this "normal" or high/low?
only have the one fan pushing rite now, it comes with one if you want a push/pull you have to order a 2nd one.
Its in a HAF 932 case so there is lots of room and air flow for sure

there are 2 evga 570s below it but they arent folding at the moment, just idling while I test this out
for what its worth at idle the 570s sit at 37C lol

so 60C under load is about the rite spot I should be hitting?

I ask because in the "review" of the cooler master hyper 212 plus they talk about getting load temps of 46C and idle of 35C but not sure what their cpu is in that review

damn shame I cant get it to fold yet, something screwing it up

It seems a little high to me, especially with an aftermarket cooler on there. Given you have an older i7, but still at idle those temps should be more like 40-45.

it does idle at or near 40-45C
but it did that with the stock cooler!

it does seem to hold better top end with the new cooler at a load its steady 58-60 while running prime 95

It ain't broke, don't fix it.

Try to break it...Get up to 150C and I'll bet it'll still run.
