I got a 40" HDTV for Festivus. Have it hooked up to the game systems via component cables for now. While playing Kirby's Epic Yarn (Wii), I notice that the background blurs. Is there a setting I need to play with on the TV, the Wii, or both? I don't notice this blurring with Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (360).

What model TV?

If you really want to get down and dirty, read this thread.

More than likely you have a 120/240 Hz TV, and if anything you can turn motion adaption off to make the TV either display at 60 Hz, or repeat solid frames twice (or four times depending on the TV) instead of interpolation.

Sharp Aquos. Heading over to the recommended thread. And yes, I do believe it is 120 hz.

a lot of current TVs have a "game mode" which will disable all the funky picture enhancements. as a bonus it usually reduces display lag.

not sure if that mode is available via component cable input though.
