Does anyone have a lot of Handbrake experience they can share? I'd like to know if I'm making the best quality rips. I looked at the wiki guide, but it isn't updated with the new presets. I use AnyDVDHD for stripping encription.

From what I remember I use the Normal High Profile preset, then use the .mkv container. I didn't mess with any of the other video settings. For Audio I try to find the English 5.1, that's the best on a DVD right? For Subtitles I choose 1 English, Forced Only. And video codec is set on H.264

Any response either here or via PM would be appreciated. Thank you.

Sigh,

Thank you, but the MPC website locks up my browser. Just like the ripping article did. I get to read the forums with pages loading in 1-2 minutes. Makes reading multiple posts a headache.

I am using Handbrake and AnyDVD HD. When I look into the STREAM directory, I dont' see just one file that has the whole movie on it. It seems like all of the bigger files are just parts of the movie. How do I get it compressed or encoded or whatever into just one .mp4?

What I want to do is just rip my BluRays into whatever file format is best for streaming? I have a new LCD TV, and a Blu Ray player with WIFI. In the past I used to have no problems (this was a few handbrake updates ago). I would just pop the disc in, open the video TS file, and select PS3 preset, then presto. I don't even see Video_TS files anymore. It's just a bunch of AVCHD files, and there doesn't seem to be just one that is the complete movie.

I have tried to burn the disc a couple times, and I THOUGHT I had a good file, but every time I run it, it says that Quicktime (or any other program) can't play it because it's an unrecognized file format? But the file is .m4v which I thought was correct. Also, it takes about 2 hours to encode. I am running it on an overclocked 3.5ghz core i7 860.

Help!
