 Post subject: Help with DV transfer

Hello all! I got a canon zr500 from my school. It has a DV out port and i cannot get windows to detect it and install drivers. I am using a firewire cable and it is waiting for activity on the camera. I've made sure that the camera was in playback mode and also some variations on that. Any suggestions? I have an Asus Maximus III Formula mobo w/ an i7-860. I don't believe it is a hardware issue since it wont work on other computers.
