Over the past few months, I’ve been learning DVD Authoring on my own and just for fun (converting .avi files to play on a home DVD Player).

In that time, I’ve overcome every obstacle encountered in that process, except for one…

Situation: I’ve created an ‘ending credits’ .avi file I want to *Splice* onto the end of another .avi file, but every Google Search I perform turns up the same results… “Did you mean Video Splitter?â€

*Update*

Sometimes, the most difficult answers are hidden in the most obvious place.

I spent several hours researching how to *Splice* two .avi videos together when I discovered that one of the free apps I have could to the job: DVD Styler. A free DVD Authoring app that allowed me to *Add* those ending credits as a Chapter!

I will not be deleting my OP. Instead, I’ll leave it open for future reference.

After all, authoring your own DVD’s is kinda cool! :D

I'm pretty sure you can do what your saying in WMM. All it takes is for you to import the files into WMM and place them one after another on the time line. When you export the the clip/move it will transition from the first file to the next instantly.

You can also do this in DVD authoring programs. Just import the file as a separate chapter. Or end chapter. This will pass the need to re-encode to make it a single file.

Yeah, I tried (something like) that… I imported the main video into WMM and added it to the ‘Storyboard’. I then imported the ‘Ending Credits’ and added them to the storyboard.

Everything looked and played fine while in WMM, but when it came to ‘Save to Computer’, that is where things got a little weird. Rather than getting an “Estimated Time to Save,â€

That has to do with WMM encoding process. You may have had videos with codecs that were difficult for the program to use. WMM isn't the greatest with codec support but it is a quick and simple editor. Work with some basic .wmv videos and you won't run into that problem.
