Hi all,
I think I'm in the right place. I have a question about Sony accessories vs duplicate brands. My old Sony Handycam CCDTRV608 is almost 10 years old and the original batteries don't seem to hold their charge even if I'm not using it. On Newegg, I spotted this Ultralast Battery for ~$30. The Sony battery is $60 but I'm not sure I want to spend that much. Most likely, I might get a brand new camcorder in the coming months so why waste money.

oh sorry I wasn't more clear. Anyone have an opinion about using non-brand batteries for camcorders? or even cameras. Could anything go wrong?
