If you are reading this post, chances are you are having problems uninstalling a program using the Windows Installer, or you are just having Windows Installer errors when trying to install a certain program.
Fortunately, there are a few ways to fix this problem.
The best way is to run the
Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. Please make sure you read the warnings, paying particular attention to the warning about
Office 2007 products
If this doesn't fix your issue, there is still hope.
If the above hasn't worked, try running
Dial-a-fix. Unfortunately, this program will only work on Windows XP an earlier based systems.
If none of the above fixes work for you, you still have one option. You will need your Windows installation disk to perform this final task.
- Click on Start and select Run (or press Windows key and select r)
- Type in: sfc /purgecache
- Now type: sfc /scannow
- Hopefully it works for you now.
If none of the above steps work, please feel free to post a new topic in the
Free Clinic describing the problem in as much detail as possible.
Thanks!
