This is a rant, I'm not looking for support, help, assistance or anything else.
Why the hell does Microsoft make the TCP/IP stack not user replaceable in the operating system. It would be really nice to have a nice utility that automatically replaces the file from a download NOT from the DLL cache or anywhere else. Why? If malware infects the computer there is a decent chance that it will plant malicious code inside of these files.
Is it so hard to foresee a problem like that?
If it was Linux there would definitely be a way to fix it, but with XP or Vista, nope, reinstall is your only option.
I really hope Microsoft does something about this in the future releases of Windows.
Anyways, rant over.
