 Post subject: HP Recall / Customer Service

Last Tuesday I sent in a laptop that was on recall for motherboard and wireless issues. Talking to customer service was really easy. I detected a slight, southern, Asian accent, but, completely unlike the popular stereotype, they knew exactly what I was talking about and understood everything I said. They sent me a box that came Wednesday and I put the laptop in. I put nothing but the laptop itself and the battery.

I received the laptop today much to my surprise because the site said it would come Thursday. After booting up Ubuntu the wireless card was up and running. Not only did they replace the motherboard, they fixed a few keys on the keyboard that got stuck when pressed and they replaced the battery in the multimedia remote that pops out from the side.

Overall, my experience with HP was great. Everything went smoothly and much better than expected. The only complaint I have is that they didn't replace the laptop's battery that only holds 50% charge. But it's not their fault, it's just old, so no problem.
