I have one of those DIY laptops from OCZ.. got it in late fall and have loved it ever since. It had developed some problems about a week and a half ago and OCZ immediately agreed to RMA it.

I must thank OCZ for having a new unit back in my hands in under a week (including shipping in both directions). It was a new unit too, not a refurb! Fantastic!

I had a 2G Spyder thumbdrive die, and they've replaced it with a 4G...no questions asked. That's beans compared to a laptop, but I really liked the design of the spyder and it was discontinued.

And I probably killed it by screwing up the USB port plug, but I'm not sure...and they didn't ask.

So that's two thumbs up. If I had more thumbs, I'd give all I had for their products not failing, and just being over the top. Kudos to a company that has a great warranty, yet never has to use it...and even more, has a great support forum to head ya off at the pass. For me, there's none greater than OCZ. If I have a choice, I do to the ones that not only have great products, but are human as well.

Uhhh....dude, he never said he broke it.

Just because he had to do a RMA doesn't mean the problem was his fault.

Probably was though. I've used OCZ exclusively for over a decade with no hardware faults. That's like 124 sticks that are perfect.

I just can't understand blaming OCZ memory for anything. There's always underlying problems, and why memtest sucks. I got one error...stick bad=wrong

Yeah umm.. I hope that wasn't directed at me. The original model I had had an overheating problem to the point where a chip and some of the traces burned and the laptop would no longer power up. (the same nvidia 8600GT causing problems in Dells, Apples, HP's, etc)

If turning the laptop on and sitting it on a small table while doing general email checking, web site viewing and a bit of programming means I broke the laptop then I'm guilty as charged.

The new replacement has a bigger heatsink, a slightly more powerful fan and more air passages for cooling and has run MUCH cooler.
