I haven't had the ability to even option into the NFL network. They won't allow it as a common channel with the excuse it's not popular, but I get the freaking Golf Channel. Get the sports package for an added cost? NFL is still not an option even then because they're too firm on their stance. They've basically given NFL the bird.

That's been going on for a while now, and NFL.com even has a link to petition TW. Now tonight they announced they want 5 other channels killed for their stance. January 1st is when I understand I won't get channels like Discovery or Comedy Central.

Is TW acting like Rambus and just being cheap asses now? Are they broke? I'm in San Diego and it's not like I can pick any vendor I want. I can't get Cox or anyone for internet, cable, or telephone. I have to pick from what's available according to what side of the street I'm on. If I'm not with TW, then I'm with a dish for cable, AT&T for telephone, and lord knows what for internet.

They're playing hardball when no customer wants less channels for the money they are jacking ya for. And no options. They know they have us and we just have to pay up.

So any of you experiencing this BS? ISP's and Cable should be treated as utilities now days, and not able to pull this type of action against it's customers. Less channels, less money...right? Nope. Still over $100 a month for services that are slimming, and no option to go to.

De-regulation. Does it work? Not when they're not counted as a utility.

Dish network just dropped ABC over here on the west coast. It would appear it's not just Time Warner. I'm not sure what else they dropped/will be dropping, though.

"The channels that would be affected are: Comedy Central, CMT: Pure Country, Logo, Palladia, MTV, MTV 2, MTV Hits, MTV Jams, MTV Tr3s, Nickelodeon, Noggin, Nick 2, Nicktoons, Spike, The N, TV Land, VH1, VH1 Classic, and VH1 Soul."

This sounds horrible to me, they should just raise the price $0.23/subscriber instead of canceling out the channels completely.

They've been hiking the price around here astromically already.

I cancelled my cable to save money and haven't looked back since. Doesn't look like I'll be getting it back any time soon!

I have their internet, I should start researching options, I'm tired of subsidizing their weasel ways.

I don't mind the dish folks, it's just that the weather channel doesn't do local on the 8s, it does random national stuff. Annoying.

But Time Warner certainly deserves a trip to the dog pound for their recent behavior.

DirecTV allows a local forcast to my zip code at the top of the hour, or by pressing the Blue Button while viewing TWC. Pretty neat.

I do miss NJ12 News and NJ12 Traffic/Weather (only from Cablevision - raping customers since 1973).

Worry no more. I read this morning that TM and Viacom reached an agreement. So they won't be pulling those channels after all.
